Meet the Faces Behind Vivre!

Midwifery practice Vivre

Midwifery practice Vivre is a small-scale midwifery practice serving Valkenswaard, Aalst, Waalre, and Dommelen. Our team always strives to provide personalised, tailor-made maternity care. Because we have worked together for many years, we are closely aligned and function as a well-coordinated team.

In addition to standard midwifery care, each of us has developed our own area of expertise. For medical detailed ultrasounds (the 13- and 20-week scans), we have specially trained sonographers within our practice who perform these examinations. This allows us to provide you with comprehensive care, all within our own practice.

The Midwives

Born and raised in Valkenswaard, I graduated as a midwife in 2003 after completing my nursing degree, and in 2018 I obtained my ultrasound qualification. I am married to Michael and have three wonderful sons: Casper, Pepijn, and Mathijs.
It is such a privilege to be able to go to work every day with joy. And I truly can, because I have the most beautiful profession in the world — a job that brings me energy and fulfilment.
Every person is different, and therefore every pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period is unique. That is why I believe it is essential that care is tailored to the individual needs of the woman and her partner or family. My goal is to help prepare you well for parenthood so that you can start this new chapter with confidence and a strong foundation.
I hope to support you in developing trust in your own strength and abilities during this time. I see having a baby as a natural process that should be carefully monitored, with a positive approach being key. It is an honour for me to guide and support you during this special period.

Annelies Penders

Midwife, sonographer, Centering Pregnancy

I graduated as a midwife in 1998 and immediately started working in my own practice here in Valkenswaard (and Aalst-Waalre).
By now, I have been working in this wonderful profession for many years. I still enjoy my varied work every single day — my clients, my colleagues, and all the beautiful moments that come with being a midwife.

My true passion lies in connecting with clients. Through my guidance, I hope to reassure you and give you confidence, so that you can experience this period with a positive feeling.

I am also a proud mother of four amazing children. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, or relaxing with a good book.

I hope to meet you soon at the practice!

am a mother of two children myself. Motherhood has given me even deeper insight into the profession of midwifery. It has made me more aware of how vulnerable this period can be, how uncertain you may feel, and how true all those clichés really are.
Every day I feel grateful that I get to practise this beautiful profession. In my role as a midwife, I truly want to be there for you. Being able to reassure you by using my knowledge and skills gives me great fulfilment.
As a midwife, no two days are the same. Consultations, urgent visits, births, postnatal home visits, and ultrasounds alternate continuously. I enjoy this variety and am always moved by the pure emotions that come with expecting a baby. It remains something truly special.
Mutual trust is central to me, as well as care tailored to your wishes and needs.
This is me, Femke van Son. Midwife since 2009, sonographer since 2011, specialised in contraception through IUD insertions. I enjoy good food, spending time with my family, friends, and loved ones. I am a hard worker, caring, positive, and honest.

My friends also call me “Bevalerie.” With great pleasure, I support the Vivre team. I have been working as a midwife since 2017 and I truly enjoy every day of this profession, with all its beautiful and sometimes intense emotions that we get to share. For example, the very first time you hear a baby’s heartbeat, or the moment a baby is born and you witness the overwhelming relief and joy of the parents. I absolutely love this, and it gives me a real sense of honour to be part of such special moments.
Of course, there are also sad moments, but even then it is very meaningful to be able to support and make a difference for someone.

I am trained as a sonographer and perform both medical and 3D/4D or gender reveal ultrasounds. You can also come to me for IUD or Implanon insertion. This makes my work varied and challenging in the best way.

I grew up in Valkenswaard but currently live in Eindhoven. In January 2025, I became a mother myself, which has made the entire childbirth proces — and my work — even more meaningful.
